Zero Telemetry. Local-First Invariant.

Aftur and all Grusk Labs utilities contain zero telemetry SDKs, zero crash analytics loggers, zero advertising identifiers, and zero user-tracking pixels. Your workspace layouts, open application titles, project file paths, browser URLs, and display configurations are processed strictly in RAM and stored on your local disk. None of this data is ever transmitted to Grusk Labs or any third party.
1. Data Handled by Our Native Binaries
When you run Aftur on macOS, the application interacts with your local system APIs:
- Accessibility APIs (AXUIElement): Queries window titles, dimensions, and screen coordinates to position your workspace.
- CoreGraphics Quartz: Queries connected monitor bounds, refresh rates, and display EDID identifiers.
- Local Keychain: Caches cryptographically signed Ed25519 license receipts bound to your Mac’s
IOPlatformUUID. - Application Support Directory: Stores your workspace JSON profiles at
~/Library/Application Support/dev.aftur.app/profiles/.
All operations occur locally. At no point does the binary upload, backup, or stream your profile content over any network connection.
2. Licensing & Commercial Transactions
When purchasing an Aftur Pro Personal or Pro Team license, payments are processed by our merchant of record, Dodo Payments Inc. Dodo Payments handles billing, credit card tokenization, and tax calculation (including Indian GST and international sales tax).
During license activation, your local Aftur binary communicates with our Cloudflare Worker endpoint (api.grusklabs.com/v1/license/activate) strictly transmitting:
- Your purchased license key
- A one-way SHA-256 hash of your Mac’s hardware UUID (
IOPlatformUUID) - The optional device name (e.g. "MacBook Pro") for multi-seat management
The edge worker signs an Ed25519 cryptographic receipt and returns it to your Mac. Once verified, Aftur operates 100% offline without requiring periodic phone-home pings.
3. Website Analytics & Cookies
The grusklabs.com website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate visitor metrics (such as page views and geographic country distribution). We do not set persistent tracking cookies, fingerprint your browser, or sell any visitor data.
